Challenges of owning senior pets

We all love our pets, so whether you have an older pet or if you are considering adopting an older pet, there are some challenges that you will face.
Senior pets require a different diet plan, a more relaxed exercise plan, and you need a little bit more patience and understanding towards them.
Personally we have two dogs that are 13 years old and they are big dogs so that is pretty good. I have noticed little differences like, it takes them a little bit more time to get up and get going, they are having to go out and have a potty breaks more often, and they seem to sleep more. I also notice that they have a hard time hearing and seeing.
My dog Max was diagnosed with cancer last spring and we elected to let him live his days as he pleases. We won't put him through any stressful treatments or surgeries that will not prolong his life much or give him a better quality of life at this point. We want him to live out his days at home stress free for as long as possible. He was spoiled before but now he's being spoiled even more!!
So there are many things to think about with senior pets. Medical expenses, House Soiling, Pain, Seperation anxiety, Fearful, Aggression, Diet, to list a few things. But if you think about it these are all things that we have to be aware about in pets of any age.
We need to enjoy our senior pets and don't be afraid about adopting an older pet. Older pets are great companions and will love you just the same as a puppy or kitten. I'm proud to say my dogs are 13 years old to me that says a lot about me as their owner. I have done a great job raising them and keeping them healthy as far as whats in my control.
If you have any comments on this subject or would like to share any of your own senior pet stories please do, I would love to hear what other pet owners have to say.

Homemade pet blankets and pillows

I am currently working on a new project to add to our pet sitting and dog walking business. I will be making pet blankets, and pillows for our furry family members. I will be selling them online on my website. I will be offering them for you to purchase for your own pet, someone else's pet, or if you would like to purchase one and I will donate it to a local animal shelter for you. Also if you purchase one of your own, I will donate part of the proceeds to a local animal shelter. They will be available in small, medium, and large.
They will be available around the middle of March. If you are intrested in pre-ordering one contact me at 612-807-7850.
